Èze is medieval village perched 700 meters above the Mediterranean near the French/Italian border.
Dating back to around 2000 BC this village is full of charming buildings, winding narrow streets and beautiful views.
Getting lost in the alley ways is a pleasure as you will discover doorways, cacti and even a hotel with a Golden Goat.

Stop for a moment and examine the smaller details, the window frames, street lights and door knockers.
The exotic garden
Follow the path to the top and you will find the Exotic Garden with breathtaking views over terracotta tiled rooftops of the Côte d'Azur. Dotted amongst the cacti and succulents are sculpture of maidens emerging from the earth. All very exotic indeed.

The views
From the top of the exotic garden look down to Eze Bord de Mer on the Meditteranean coastline with its azure blue seas. Looking further afield onto Cap Ferrat and on a clear day out to sea, Corsica.
Chateau de la Chevre d'Or
Nestled in amongst the alleyways and doorways is a five star hotel. Waiters and waitresses can be found hustling quietly behind half open doors. The hotel translates to Castle of the Golden Goat and the golden goat is found on the roof and other exotics such as elephant and giraffes can be seen for the price of a room.
From a distance
Looking up from the beach you can see the dramatic setting for Eze. Sitting high on the cliff, the elements become clearer as you approach. The palm trees and terraces come into focus and those tiny people in the garden become watchers of your progress upward.
